HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the artwork. There are three basic packages that serve as starting points and are changed to reflect the family’s requests. You can expect to consider:

  • Base cost of package

  • Commission cost for the piece of artwork (this varies based on size and complexity).

  • A cost for time spent at the venue

  • Travel expenses

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

1. You would first reach out through my website or email.

2. We would then consult, and you would share content/ideas with me for the work and for the context of the work at your wedding. At the end of this meeting we would determine details including the date of the event and the size of the work.

3. At this consultation, an initial contract will be signed and a $500 non-refundable fee for preliminary sketches and reservation of the date/time would be paid (this will be applied to the full balance at the time of full payment). Once the initial payment is received I will create a design. We will meet and review that design, making changes up to three times as desired.

4. A final meeting will be held to review the designs a minimum of 30 days before the event. At this meeting we will set a final design and time frame. We will sign a final contract that reflects any changes that were made during the design process. At this time, we will finalize the purchase price and delivery date for the finished artwork. No changes will be made after this meeting.

  • The full balance must be paid seven days prior to the event.

  • The artwork will be finished in the studio and delivered upon completion (date of delivery will be agreed on for the final contract).

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE?

We will stay in contact throughout the process and in the days leading up to your wedding, but changes must be committed to during the design process. Up to three changes can be made before the final contract is signed. At that time, not changes can be requested. Paint and colored pencil are not very forgiving, and many changes simply are not possible once they are committed to paper.

HOW DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK AT MY WEDDING?

When I arrive to the event I will need access to the venue (where the moment will be captured) several hours early (or in the days leading up to the weeding). I will typically have preliminary sketches and watercolor washes set in place and completed as much as possible before the reception begins. I will take photographs relevant to the design for reference as I work. Live painting is a form of “Plein Air” (outdoors) painting used to capture a special moment during the wedding. I will work on the painting during your event. Later, it will be finished in the studio before being delivered to you. Your guests are invited to watch and/or chat with me my while the work is being done.
